General John R. Allen is a retired four-star U.S. Marine Corps General and one of the foremost experts on national security, emerging technology, and global strategic risk. As the former commander of NATO and U.S. forces in Afghanistan, he led a 150,000-strong coalition force and became the first Marine to command a theater of war.
Following his military service, General Allen served as Special Presidential Envoy to the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, building a 65-nation alliance. He currently serves as Strategic Advisor to Microsoft, a board member at Polar Semiconductor, and a Senior Fellow at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
A published author and co-inventor of five AI-related patents, General Allen is one of the originators of the concept of “hyperwar.” He brings unparalleled expertise in defense technology, dual-use innovation, and the strategic intersection of national security and advanced aerospace systems.
